Private chef and baking entrepreneur Jonathan Hoffman has his fingers in a lot of pies.  As an active member of the Cannon Beach community, Hoffman has become an acclaimed local chef through his private catering business Chefs Table, an accomplished baker for Dough Dough Bakery, and has hinted that a food cart is ‘in the works.’  A three-time winner of Iron Chef Goes Coastal with two different partners, Chef Hoffman works with local farmers, fisherman and foragers to use the freshest ingredients to feature in his culinary fares.

“A true artist can make something out of a mistake.” A quote that Hoffman’s mother used to admonish him as a child has shaped his drive, culinary creativity and perseverance as an adult.  Raised outside Independence on a central Willamette Valley hazelnut and grass seed farm, Hoffman landed in Cannon Beach as a cook at the Cannon Beach Conference Center. Through his work there he found his culinary style, his passion, and a community that -14 years later- he continues to love.  Working hard in an assortment of local restaurants, a landscaping company, and a bakery he found his niche when he started his private catering company Chef’s Table and Dough Dough Bakery.

Five years later, his businesses are continuing to grow.  Chefs table, private catering, and features at local festivals such as Savor Cannon Beach this weekend allow him to keep his knives working.  Dough Dough Bakery scones, treats, and pastries can be found at Brew 22 coffee shop in Seaside, Sleepy Monk Coffee, The Human Bean, Cannon Beach Fresh Foods, Journeys End Espresso in Astoria and more!  

Keeping up with growing demand has been made possible by business partner Alex Brandon.  Brandon was raised in the Astoria-Seaside area and came to cherish the small community.  Raised in a family of encouraging cooks and bakers, Brandon baked as a hobby until partnering with Hoffman for the Dough Dough business.  Crooning “rise baby rise” when she puts bakes in the oven, Brandon’s family-honed skill set is an incredible asset to the partnership.
